Refuge

Each year the students choose a new theme.  This year the theme is Refuge. Where do you go when you need a refuge? Who do you call upon when you need help? When people are in trouble, most of the time they call 911 for help. Think Psalm 911  Psalm 91:1-2 says;

"Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, 'He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.' "

This verse will serve as our theme for the year. My prayer for the students this year will be that they not only know about their faith and the facts of the Bible and the character of God, but that they will experience God as a real refuge in their life. Life can be pretty crazy for students and they need a solid relationship with Christ and a group of other students they can trust and student ministry that can be a refuge for them in the daily challenges that life will give them.

At Westside, all students are welcome and accepted as they are. If you are looking to learn more about the Christian worldview and how it is relevent for students today you are encourged to join us anytime.
